coast to stop in Chicago and be transferred to a different train station to continue your trip to the opposite coast. Passengers via rail could not travel directly from New York to California or vice versa, but had to by shuttled to another Chicago station after arriving in Chicago. This contract continued until 1955 when Jack Keeshin (Paul's dad) was awarded the contract which finally ended the the 101 years of monopoly service from Parmelee to the railroads. It was from this point on that a new company now known as Railroad Transfer Service emerged and eventually the creation of the Illinois Railroad Transfer Service some five years later by Paul. By the 1970s the railroads' growth had stopped and Paul's dad discontinued the transfer business and sold the remaining assets of the now very small bus service to Paul, his youngest son. Paul began to establish a special niche in the charter bus marketplace in Chicago and from that point, there began a steady climb into an entirely new brand of group passenger services......Keeshin Charter Service, Keeshin Tour and Travel and finally Keeshin Transportation soon gained national prominence as one of the most well-known and respected charter, travel & tour and specialized contract bus companies in the country. As a trend setter in the industry, Keeshin had built a company that earned both the respect of his fellow bus operators and customers alike.........Excellence and innovation had always been the driving force behind the growth of the Keeshin company.
