Amazon to Add 2,000 More Jobs in Austin, Lease Huge Space in The Domain

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Online retail giant Amazon said on Tuesday it would add 2,000 new jobs at its Austin tech hub and lease new space in north Austin.

In a press release, Amazon said the jobs would come “over the next few years” and expand support roles to Amazon’s retail divisions, businesses and web services. Roles such as senior data engineers, technical program managers, UX designers, and financial analysts are expected to be hired.

In order to expand its employment opportunities, Amazon will lease 330,000 square feet of office space from The Doman. The space isn’t expected to open until early 2024, but there are already three locations for Amazon in economic hub north Austin.

“Our continued investment in Austin is a testament to the talent and incredible amenities this city has to offer,” said Doug Gray, site manager for Amazon’s Technology Center in Austin. “With over 3,000 jobs already created and over 1,000 business and technology positions currently available, we look forward to continuing to provide exciting career opportunities to local residents. “

Amazon is also planning expansions in other cities across the country. He planned to add jobs in Chicago Phoenix, Houston and Dallas.
