Avoid penalties. Pay Property Taxes by January 31 – Welcome to the City of Fort Worth
Posted on January 12, 2022
The last day to pay 2021 property taxes to avoid penalties and interest is Monday January 31said Wendy Burgess, Tarrant County tax assessor-collector.
“All eight Tarrant County tax offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to help taxpayers pay their property taxes,” Burgess said. “However, we encourage taxpayers to pay online whenever possible to avoid crowds and possible exposure to COVID.
“As online systems become heavily utilized in the later hours of the day, we recommend starting the online process earlier in the month to avoid complications and not wait until January 31,” Burgess said.
Property taxes can be paid in several ways:
- In line.
- Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted for online and in-person payments at all branches. A convenience fee will be added to debit and credit card payments.
- Online eCheck payments can be made without a convenience fee.
- Payment by phone is available 24/7 at 817-884-1110.
- By email. Make sure your payment is postmarked by the US Postal Service by January 31 to avoid penalties and interest.
The Tarrant County Tax Office Customer Service Center is available at 817-884-1100 to assist residents with property and motor vehicle tax questions. Phone lines are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
