Ayush is about to bring all services online on a single platform

Ayush ministry’s multi-aspirational project namely “Ayush grid” is going to be digitally upgraded very soon. As part of the Ayush Grid project, the Ayush sector will be digitized to bring all services together on a single platform. This will be technically supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Technology.

“A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to provide technical support for digitization of Ayush sector under the project Ayush Grid for a period of 3 years.” an Ayush ministry official said, adding that this MoU is a continuation of the previous MoU signed in 2019.

In accordance with the previously signed MoU, organizations under MeitY like NeGD have supported the development of Ayush Sanjivani Mobile App, Monitoring Dashboard, BISAG-N for the development of Ayush GIS, modules related to the ‘Ayush education, the DIC for the development of the Ayush information center, the ministry’s website. , Ayusoft, C-DAC for providing training to Ayush doctors. It is pertinent to mention that the NeGD and the BISAG-N provided valuable input in the finalization of various technical documents such as the technical solution design and the project DPR.

A High Level Advisory Committee (HLAC) chaired by Secretary Ayush and co-chaired by Secretary MeitY has been formed to provide advisory opinions on the Ayush Grid project. A working group was also formed under the chairmanship of Sh. J. Satyanarayana (former MeitY secretary and UIDAI president) with other experts from NITI Aayog, NHA, MeitY, etc. for providing expert advice on the right architecture, identifying building blocks, leveraging development under ABDM, understanding the requirements of building a public-private ecosystem, and various technical and strategic issues for the Ayush Grid project . This helped the ministry shape the technical construction of the project.

What is ‘Ayush Grid’

The Ministry of Ayush has conceptualized the “Ayush Grid” project under the Digital India program, which leverages “information and technology” to transform operational efficiency, improve service delivery and improve quality services. The Ayush Grid platform is envisioned as the IT backbone enabling the integration of all stakeholders and functions or services related to Ayush healthcare systems.

From the user’s point of view, the Ayush Grid is the proposed central computing platform offering several computing services for all medicine systems under Ayush, namely Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa and Homeopathy in all functional areas i.e. health care delivery, education, research, capacity building, drug registration and standardization as well as outreach to media.
