The final trailer for ‘Avatar: The Way of the Waters’, the sequel to James Cameron’s epic fantasy fiction, ‘Avatar’, has been released. The two-minute trailer promises to be a visual extravaganza while telling a compelling story of love, battles, and tragedy. Netizens who watched the trailer praised the work, saying it was by far one of the best trailers to come out in several years. “It’s true what they say. ‘Patience is a virtue’. Looks spectacular,” one person wrote.

According to the makers, the film, which takes place more than a decade after the events of the first film, begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the troubles that follow them, the lengths they will protect each other, the battles they fight to stay alive and the tragedies they endure.

The film is directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, Lightstorm Entertainment Production. The film will star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet. The screenplay is by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver.

The first part of the film had been re-released in India in September as part of the upcoming sequel release.

Pre-bookings for the film have already started in major Indian cities. The film will be released in theaters on December 16. The film is expected to run for 24 hours in select theaters.

Another big change with the new Innova Hycross will be its engine. The MPV will be powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine with a powerful hybrid system as Toyota is focusing on introducing self-charging hybrids in India as they are more cost effective, do not require charging stations and customers do not. have to wait long hours to recharge the vehicles.

Toyota has not revealed engine specs for the upcoming Innova Hycross, however, those details will be revealed on November 21 when the minivan makes its world debut in Indonesia. Toyota will not offer a diesel engine choice and has also dropped the current generation Innova Crysta diesel variants.

The new Innova Hycross, when it launches in India early next year, is expected to be priced at around Rs 20 lakh ex-showroom. The Innova Hycross is expected to come in multiple variants and will also spawn a Maruti Suzuki version similar to the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

People often look forward to retirement, but Moses Tillmon did the opposite after retiring from Midlothian School District 143 in Illinois in 2007.

“I started this job in 1977. After 30 years I retired, so I had to find something else to do,” said Tillmon, who worked in maintenance and special education in the district. .

“After I retired I started playing full time. I used to play all the time but I play full time now.

When a good friend who worked at the Guitar Center in Country Club Hills, Illinois suggested Tillmon go to the Hideaway in Blue Island, Illinois for a jam, he met bassist Tom Rezetko.

“Sometimes you have a rapport, a chemistry with certain people. For some reason, Tom and I seemed to get along just fine. We must be good friends,” said the guitarist and singer, who uses the nickname Smiley Tillmon in musical circles.

After Tillmon and Rezetko sat down as guitarist and bassist, respectively, at an open jam at Harte’s Saloon in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the Smiley Tillmon Band began.

“Here we are 16 years later. We’re still together,” said Tillmon, who also performs with Chicago’s Beverly Community Rezetko as The Smiley Tillmon Blues Duo at House of Blues Chicago.

The Smiley Tillmon Band performs November 16 at 115 Bourbon Street—Front Stage in Merrionette Park, Illinois; Nov. 23 at Hailstorm Brewing Co. in Tinley Park, Illinois; and on November 26 at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s Council Oak Bar in Gary, Indiana, all of which are venues the band have played before.

The group also includes guitarist Kate Moss from Elgin, with whom Tillmon first performed at the Beverly Arts Center in Chicago, and drummer George Baumann from Lombard.

” We are doing very good. We are very lucky, doing a lot of festivals and parties. We get along well and that’s the best part of it all. By the grace of God, I’m doing great,” said Tillmon of Markham.

“The wonderful thing about acting – me and Tom talk about it all the time – always try to do your best and be honest with people because you never know who’s out there. I never take it for granted.

The Smiley Tillmon Band plays several genres of music, including Chicago Blues, soul, rhythm and blues, funk, and zydeco.

“My favorite is what people want to hear. I try to go in there and come prepared with a pretty good setlist but that’s just my old-school nature. I am a country boy. I love doing what people love,” said Tillmon, who was born in rural Georgia and moved to Florida when he was 10.

“When I go there, the #1 thing for me is the people. Without the people, it makes no sense for us to be there anyway. If I know it, I will play it and give you my best. Everyone has their own way of doing things. My thing is that I like people and I like what I do. I still love the game.

“It’s mostly covers, but it sounds like originals when I get to cut songs. I have a way of doing things. I put my own spin on things. I respect others but I don’t like to copy others. When I do a song and people say, “I really liked that,” I say, “Thank you.” »

He began playing music in 1957. After supporting Miami rhythm and blues singer Billy Miranda in the 1960s and touring from Canada to New York with the calypso-oriented Sammy Ambrose & The Afro-Beats, Tillmon arrived in Chicago in 1962 and landed a music gig. only two weeks later.

“When I came here, it was the blues — Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters. I just had to readjust my chords. A classic C chord is the same as a local Delta chord,” said Tillmon, who learned to play after buying a guitar for $10 at a pawnshop and buying a chord book.

“I met people like Lonnie Brooks, Jimmy Johnson and a lot of good players who helped me because I was nervous. I had never played the blues but I knew how it was. I didn’t didn’t act like I knew everything. Sixty years later, I’m still in it so it’s fine.

He played with Billy “The Kid” Emerson, Denise LaSalle and blues artists on Chicago’s South Side before choosing a full-time job in the late 1970s to support his family of five children.

“I put the game on hold, just for the weekends, and started a job at school so I could have a regular salary and pay the rent. I wanted to play all the time, but the gigs didn’t weren’t paying enough, so I did what I had to do,” Tillmon said.

“When I finished working for 30 years I was doing pretty well, so now all I do is play.”

Tillmon, who was inducted as a master blues artist into the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame in 2017, said he prefers gigs in an intimate setting.

“When you have a big room, you don’t see the faces. When I’m in a club where people can be up front and I can see them and be silly with them, that makes me happy. I can really engage with people,” he said.

“People can shout their requests and sing along. It looks more like a party than a concert. I love it. I really do.”

Roblox (NYSE: RBLX) recently provided its investors with a ray of hope, as the company provided an update with an upbeat stat or two. However, the outlook is murky if Roblox cannot capture the attention and money of adult consumers. Therefore, I am neutral on Roblox stock.

Roblox is a video game company, and its game is intentionally filled with blocky graphics. Beyond its gameplay function, the Roblox platform is a portal to the metaverse. There, as you’d expect, Roblox (the company) earns revenue from facilitating the sale of virtual items.

Is it a lucrative business model? That’s the billion-dollar question, and a recently released data set suggests that Roblox is increasing its sales of digital goods. On the other hand, some financial experts are skeptical that Roblox can successfully woo older users while navigating a post-pandemic world.

Roblox has demonstrated growth by this crucial metric

Roblox does not expect to release its third quarter 2022 financial results until November 9. However, it has already released a significant set of operating results for September. Among the data points were several positive ones, including an indicator of Roblox’s ability to sell virtual goods. Indeed, it’s not hard to see why Roblox stock jumped 20% on October 17. The company revealed that its estimated bookings for September rose 11% to 15% year over year to between $212 million and $219 million.

The press release did not define reservations, but Barrons explains this metric as “equivalent to the amount of virtual currency purchased during a given period”. Additionally, users of the Roblox platform use a virtual currency called Robux to purchase items.

Selling these items is the bread and butter of Roblox, so it’s certainly encouraging that the company’s monthly bookings have increased. Also in September, Roblox’s daily active users (DAUs) grew 23% year-on-year to 57.8 million, while hours engaged on the company’s platform increased 16% year-on-year to reach 4 billion.

Were financial traders too enthusiastic about driving RBLX shares up 20% in a single day? It is possible that their haste will be punished as the future of Roblox may hinge on an overly young and unreliable user base.

Two analysts have issued warnings about Roblox Stock

It’s been a tough year for RBLX shareholders, even after the aforementioned 20% share price increase. Additionally, there could be a lot more pain in store, as two analysts raise concerns about Roblox’s young user population.

Key analyst Mike Hickey, for example, suggested that the COVID-19 pandemic drove the company’s growth forward for a while; in other words, confined people have been spending a lot of time playing video games in 2020. However, Hickey is seeing a normalization in behavior lately, which could dampen the growth in user engagement catalyzed by the Roblox pandemic.

It’s a fancy way of saying that Roblox can’t continue to rely on COVID-19 to keep people inside and playing. Roblox for hours. That’s not the only concern, however. Hickey also observed that many users of the platform are children and that children are more open to changing games because they do not pay for gaming experiences themselves.

Parents are usually the ones who give kids money to spend on Roblox gaming, and those parents have little to no emotional connection to the game. So they won’t feel bad about cutting back on spending in this time of high inflation.

Additionally, Hickey warns that the Roblox game is primarily aimed at young children, who cannot be relied upon as consumers, as they will age out of the game when they are teenagers. With all of these factors in mind, Hickey issued a very bearish price target of $21 and a sell rating on RBLX stock.

Along the same lines, research analyst Cowen Sr. Doug Creutz explained that spending Roblox The platform is “still very heavily influenced by kids aged, say, 8-12”, and that it is “still largely a youth-focused experience”. Creutz also hinted that kids aren’t necessarily big spenders on Roblox, saying, “I don’t know if the kids are really excited about going to a virtual Chipotle or a virtual Walmart. I think they prefer to play games.

What is Roblox Action Prediction?

As for Wall Street, Roblox stock has a Moderate Buy consensus rating based on eight buys, six holds, and three sells assigned over the past three months. The average Roblox stock price forecast is $43.20, implying a downside potential of 2.51%.

Conclusion: Should You Consider Roblox Stock?

RBLX shareholders are in a tough spot here. They’ve been in a losing position year-to-date, but September’s data release from Roblox looks very encouraging. The full story is not limited to the raw data, however. Frankly, young children probably can’t be counted on to stay on the Roblox long-term platform, or spend a lot of money on it. Therefore, since these age dynamics might not work in Roblox’s favor, it’s wise to avoid RBLX stock for the time being.

In the wake of the Modi government’s formation of a commission to reassess reservations for Dalits, Ambedkarite scholars are debating whether to include Muslim and Christian Dalits in the list of scheduled castes. Much of the opposition stems from the claim that Muslim and Christian Dalits do not face the same level of caste oppression as Hindu, Buddhist and Sikh Dalits.

However, many others have strongly disputed this claim, arguing that reservations should be religiously neutral and that the caste oppression faced by Dalits does not go away by changing religion.

Background

At present, only Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist Dalits are eligible for reservations of jobs, education and legislatures under India’s Scheduled Caste quota. This is in accordance with the Order of the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) of 1950, a presidential decree which lists all Scheduled Castes. Initially, paragraph 3 of the ordinance stated that only Hindus could avail themselves of the reservations. In 1956 the text was amended to include Sikhs and in the 1990s to include Buddhists.

However, lobby groups have long argued that the list should include Muslim and Christian Dalits.

In 2004, a case was filed in the Supreme Court by several petitioners, including the nongovernmental organization Center for Public Interest Litigation, arguing that limiting the Scheduled Caste category to certain faiths amounted to discrimination based on religion. In August, the Supreme Court asked the Center to file a response to the case by October 10.

On October 6, the Center appointed a three-member commission to consider whether the Scheduled Caste category should be expanded to include Muslims and Christians. The commission, comprising former Chief Justice of India KG Balakrishnan, former Indian administrative service officer Ravindra Kumar Jain and member of the university scholarship commission Sushma Yadav, will submit its report within two years.

Debate

Since the formation of the commission, several Ambedkarite activists have opposed the inclusion of Dalit Muslims and Christians in the list of Scheduled Castes.

One argument is that many Dalit Muslims and Christians are already getting bookings under the Other Backward Classes category. “Most Dalit Christians and Muslims are part of the central or national OBC list,” said Ashok Bharti, president of the National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organizations. “They are already enjoying the benefits of booking. So they can’t say they’re not reserved.

They also question the need for these groups to obtain Scheduled Caste reservations, which are provided to communities facing untouchability, given that activists argue that Islam and Christianity are caste-independent religions.

“They [Islam and Christianity] offered freedom from untouchability and humiliation to Dalits,” said Bharti, who strongly opposed the inclusion. “It was their [religious leader’s] publicly that they don’t believe in caste.

Ashok Bharti on social media site Twitter

Shubhajit Naskar, an assistant professor at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, also opposed the inclusion of Muslims and Dalit Christians in the Scheduled Caste category, citing the egalitarian nature of these religions. “Nowhere does the Quran or the Bible mention untouchability or a caste hierarchy unlike the texts of Hinduism, which mention the Varna system,” he added. wrote in The Hindu,

Furthermore, scholars argue that since the inception of the Scheduled Caste category, Muslims and Christians were not meant to be part of it. “Even in the Constituent Assembly debates, Muslims and Christians did not ask to become a scheduled caste,” Bharti said.

Arvind Kumar, a doctoral student in political science at the University of London, agrees with Bharti. “[In] debates of the Constituent Assembly, it was said who will be programmed caste, who will not be programmed caste”, he declared. Scroll.in. “If something was rejected by the Constituent Assembly, then it cannot be brought back even by a constitutional amendment. It would be tantamount to rewriting and destroying the Constitution.

Bharti attributed the request to political pressure. “I guess most Muslims and Christians want to use the Scheduled Caste right to go to Parliament [or state assemblies],” he said. Currently, Scheduled Castes have 84 reserved seats in the Lok Sabha, as well as reserved seats in state assemblies and local body elections.

Bharti said that in states like Uttar Pradesh, Muslim-dominated areas are reserved for scheduled castes. “There are allegations that Scheduled Caste reservations have been used as a tool to gerrymander,” Kumar added.

He said that the call for the inclusion of Muslims in the Dalit category started from 2004 and therefore such inclusion is not a “genuine concern”. “Since the rise of the BJP, politics has been communitarianized and the representation of Muslims is on the decline,” Kumar said.

A valid request

However, other activists and scholars disagree with this characterization of reservations. They argue that reservations are religiously neutral and that the oppression faced by Muslims and Christians continues after they convert.

“If you look at all the reservations [OBC, EWS] they are religiously neutral,” said Khalid Anis Ansari, associate professor of sociology at Azim Premji University. “Only the Scheduled Caste category is not religiously neutral.”

Ansari argues that religion cannot be the primary identifier in policy-making and therefore affirmative action must be based on social backwardness and not religion. “The request for [including] The Dalit Muslims arrived in 1994 and [the demand for] The Dalit Christians started even earlier,” he explained. “The idea is not about legislative or other things [benefits]», but to challenge the constitutionality of the religious prohibition.

Moreover, people who oppose this inclusion “do not see that Muslims and Christian Dalits suffer a lot of oppression despite their conversion”, said Shalin Maria Lawrence, an Ambedkarite activist and writer from Tamil Nadu.

Lawrence disagreed with the argument that conversion to Islam or Christianity removes caste disability. “A Dalit is a Dalit everywhere: in Christianity, Islam or Buddhism,” she said. For example, Lawrence pointed out, many manual garbage collectors in Chennai are Christians.

Snehashish Das, PhD student and Secretary General of Birsa Ambedkar Phule Students Association at Jawaharlal National University, Delhi, said untouchability is not an airtight phenomenon but a social phenomenon. Therefore, “we have to evaluate it not only on the basic religious text, but also on the response of society” to those who have converted, Das said.

However, the law does not recognize this social reality. “Currently the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989 does not apply to us,” Lawrence pointed out.

In addition, this status will help Dalits of all religions to access other benefits, such as the Stand-Up India Scheme, a loan facility given specifically to Scheduled Castes, Lawrence said.

Conversion and competition

Several scholars argue that opposition to the inclusion of Muslim and Christian Dalits in Scheduled Castes is also based on two factors that have little to do with social justice: concerns about conversion and competition for existing quotas.

“In terms of social justice, no one has a complaint against Muslims and Dalit Christians,” Ansari said. “But people don’t approach these categories just for social justice. There are also interest-based interventions.

Ansari pointed out that opposition to this inclusion has so far come from two groups. One is the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a Hindutva outfit, and the other is made up of Ambedkarite intellectuals such as Bharti, Naskar and Kumar. “They [the opponents] have conversion anxieties” and religions such as Islam and Christianity that are “shared by the parties in power”.

However, Arvind Kumar disagreed with this characterization. “Since I wrote the article [criticising the inclusion] people tell me that now you have switched to RSS [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] encampment,” he said. The RSS is the parent organization of several Hindutva groups, including the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party as well as the VHP.

Opposition could also stem from the fact that including Muslims and Christians in the Scheduled Caste quota would reduce opportunities for those who can currently take advantage of them. “The opposition is based on some anxieties and misconceptions, like the 50% cap,” Das said. The Supreme Court has previously ruled that reserves should not exceed 50%, except in exceptional circumstances.

The state government has been accused of helping principals of aided schools sabotage proposed bookings for the disabled in schools.

Disabled Employees Association officials alleged on Tuesday that managements failed to implement the Supreme Court’s verdict and the Kerala High Court’s directive to introduce reservations for disabled people in aided schools . The three per cent reservation is compulsory for applicants with disabilities under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunity, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995, effective 7 February 1996. Under the Act 2016 on the rights of people with disabilities, the quota has been increased to 4% from April 19, 2017, with retroactive effect.

Benny Varghese, general secretary of the association, claimed that there was an undeclared freeze on the recruitment of qualified candidates with disabilities. He also alleged that the government was slow to reserve promotions and unify supernumerary positions.

The government has not approved the appointment of teachers in subsidized schools, citing non-enforcement of the court order. The managements, however, legally challenged the reservations and also claimed that it was practically not possible. After seeking clarification in the government’s notification to this effect, a revised order was issued in September.

Members of the association plan to hold a fast in front of the State Secretariat and in all district centers on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3.
