PCB CEO Amit Kumar said, “The aim of the e-Chhawani system is to provide online services to citizens, improve the efficiency of the current paper-to-paperless system and thereby increase the revenue through transparency, unification of multiple systems on a single platform, and more. In this time of covid-19 pandemic where leaving our homes risks exposing us to the virus, e-Chhawani online services have proven to be a boon to the public as well as the Pune Cantonment Office given that the public does not have to travel to the office to avail any of the services listed above, as they are all available at the click of a button from the safety of their homes, nor will they have to deal with to long waits for any type of payments, inquiries, etc.
The progress of the e-Chhawani system is personally reviewed by the Minister of Defense and the Secretary of Defense from time to time.
