Online delivery driver detained by immigration authorities after road traffic stop in Swindon
A driver has been handed over to immigration after being arrested in Swindon over the weekend.
Police arrested a delivery driver on County Road shortly after midnight on Saturday morning.
When officers ran checks on the driver, they found he had no insurance or license.
The vehicle was also found to have a faulty tire despite being below the legal tread limit of 1.6 millimetres.
He was also wanted by the immigration services.

Writing on social media, Wiltshire Specialist Operations said: “Sorry to those who have not received their supper which was due to be delivered to Swindon via a well known food delivery app.
“Unfortunately the delivery driver had no licence, no valid insurance and a faulty tire. He was also wanted by immigration.”
Wiltshire Police have confirmed the motorist has been arrested and is currently in police custody.
A Constabulary spokesman said: ‘We have arrested a man in his 30s after his vehicle was stopped on County Road Swindon shortly after midnight (05/11).
“He was arrested on suspicion of driving without a licence, without valid insurance and with a faulty tyre.
“He was also found wanted by immigration authorities for violating his landing conditions and is currently in police custody.”
