Reservations open for paid spring collections of hard waste
Additional reservations for the hard waste collection are now open for residents of Baw Baw Shire who wish to have their spring cleaning done and dusted.
Residential properties benefiting from Council’s household garbage collection services can book an additional hard garbage collection service to help dispose of any unwanted household items. This service is made available in addition to the free annual collection of household waste at the curb.
Reservations are now open and end Friday October 22 at a cost of $ 67.20, with retirees eligible for the reduced rate of $ 33.00.
Additional collections will take place from Monday, November 8 to Friday, November 22.
Once the reservation is confirmed, residents can have up to two cubic meters of acceptable hard waste on their natural strip ready for collection. All pick-up items must be checked out by Sunday, November 7, or additional charges may apply.
Acceptable hard wastes include, but are not limited to:
- Furniture and appliances
- Electronic equipment such as televisions and DVDs
- Mattresses and box springs (maximum of two)
- Washing machines, stoves and refrigerators with doors removed
- Paint cans (empty with lids removed)
- Scrap Metal, Auto Parts and Lawn Mowers
Reservations can be made through Council customer service centers or by calling Council on 1300 229 229. Payment is required at time of booking. Please note that collections will only take place for households that have made a reservation. Residents are advised not to take out their hard waste for pickup until their reservation has been made.
Households that do not receive Council household waste services are eligible for a transfer station voucher which can be used to drop off waste directly at one of the Council’s four transfer stations in Lardner, Trafalgar, Erica and Neerim South.
