What is the latest news about Wan-Bissaka?

According to FootballTransfers, United are keen to sign a new right-back this summer but that can only happen if they manage to make the switch to Wan-Bissaka.

Previously there were talks that Crystal Palace were interested in re-signing their former player on loan, but the Eagles have yet to make any approach.

Last season wasn’t Wan-Bissaka’s best in the Premier League. In total, the Englishman made just 20 appearances, losing his place in United’s starting XI after the arrival of Ralf Rangnick.

With the Red Devils apparently in the hunt for a new right-back, his future at Old Trafford now looks seriously in doubt, if it wasn’t already.

What did Jones say about Wan-Bissaka and United?

Jones told GIVEMESPORT that Ten Hag had his doubts over Wan-Bissaka, who is currently believed to be at £83,000 a week.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer insider said: “He definitely has reservations about him. It makes sense that United could still be looking for someone very good in his position.

“I think we’ve already seen with Ten Hag’s management style that he doesn’t accept passengers. Wan-Bissaka is likely to fall into that range, so I think it’s a very big test for him the next two weeks.

Who could replace Wan-Bissaka at Old Trafford?

According to FootballTransfers, two right-backs United are currently considering are Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi and Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries.

Hakimi only joined PSG last year in an initial £51.3million deal, so signing him could be tricky. However, Dumfries, his replacement at Inter, is said to be available this summer.

He is someone Ten Hag knows well, the Dutch international having already played in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven.

While Inter appear open to selling Dumfries this transfer window, he was a player who excelled for them last season.

He has made 33 Serie A appearances and scored nine goals which is hugely impressive for a defender.

Ultimately, if Ten Hag is looking for an attacking right-back, then Dumfries could be the perfect addition to his squad.

It would likely spell the end of Wan-Bissaka’s career at Old Trafford, but with a new manager in the dugout there would always have been change at the club, especially after such a disastrous season.
