Umrahme announces record number of Ramadan reservations
Hyundai Motor Company Africa and Middle East, in partnership with Al-Majdouie Automotive Company, Hyundai’s Eastern Province Distributors and Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University of Dammam, announced the start of the third and final phase of the “Mobility for Food Bank” initiative with the Saudi Food Bank. The campaign, which began with the start of Ramadan, includes the delivery of food parcels to the poor and needy in various parts of the Kingdom.
An official launch event was held at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. The event began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Ali Al-Muraisel, Director of Services, Al-Majdouie Automotive Company, and Professor Fatima Melhim, Dean of Student Affairs at Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University. The signing ceremony was followed by the main launch event with speeches from representatives of Hyundai, Al-Majdouie and the university. Volunteer employees of Al-Majdouie and university students then participated in the process of preparing the food parcels.
The “Mobility for Food Bank” campaign aims to reach 1,500 beneficiaries in urban and rural areas of the Kingdom and underlines Hyundai’s social responsibility as a provider of mobility and sustainability solutions.
Hyundai’s three distributors – Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors Company, Al-Wallan Trading Company and Almajdouie Automotive Company – are participating, along with student volunteers from Dar Al-Hekma University and Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University.
Three Hyundai Staria vans are used to transport volunteers and food parcels to different parts of the Kingdom.
“We are aware of the responsibility to leave a positive impact on people’s lives, especially people who have gone through difficult circumstances due to the recent uncertainty the world has witnessed,” Al-Muraisel said. “The initiative underscores our commitment to this responsibility. By using our mobility solutions to create a spirit of unity and solidarity, we can give back to people during Giving Month. »
Professor Al-Melhim said the university’s participation in the campaign underscores its social responsibility to the community. She said that by volunteering to prepare food parcels, university students are playing their part in helping families in need to secure food supplies during Ramadan.
In a statement, the Saudi Food Bank expressed its willingness to strengthen its cooperation with strategic partners in the implementation of charitable and humanitarian initiatives.
The food distribution campaign is part of the automaker’s “Hyundai Continue” charity campaign.
The aim is to provide the necessary support to the target groups of low-income families, orphans and widows, to improve their living conditions, especially during Ramadan, ensure food security and meet their other needs.
Through this campaign, Hyundai Motor Company also aims to deliver on its commitment to sustainability by reducing its environmental footprint by using sustainable packaging directly from food suppliers and providing efficient transportation. All packages contain durable food that lasts at least six months and can be used during and after Ramadan.
