England will begin their campaign on the second day of the tournament against Iran on Monday 21 November before facing the United States on Friday 25 November. November 29.

All potential subsequent matches will be decided based on their position after these first three matches.

Where can I watch the World Cup in Sunderland?

Never to miss a big event, a series of pub chains have already launched table reservation systems to ensure fans can secure a front row seat in Wearside pubs.

One of the chains offering advance table reservations is Sizzling Pubs. The company has a series of venues across Sunderland with a small handful of pubs having booking systems throughout the tournament.

The brand’s local pubs offering table reservations in Tyne and Wear are The Grange Hotel on Newcastle Road, Fulwell’s Royal Marine and The County in South Shields.

The Great UK Pubs group also offer table reservations for a range of pubs and bars across the region.

The Chesters on Chester Road, Yates in the city center and the Blue Bell in Fulwell all have tables. Other options for football fans across Sunderland include The Board Inn on Durham Road, The Washington Arms and Oasis in Washington. Tables can be reserved by visiting the Great UK Pubs website.

Other pubs and bars are expected to announce their tournament plans closer to the opening matches.
