Xerox Business Solutions was awarded a contract by the University of Maine System for managed print services.
According to a university press release, the contract with Xerox, headquartered in Norwalk, “marks a transition from a long-standing relationship with Canon Solutions America, as well as other vendor equipment.”
The university added that one of the “overarching objectives of the contract is to ensure that printing is environmentally and financially sustainable while meeting the needs of the university community. This will include the consolidation of redundant and expensive devices for the benefit of more efficient and environmentally friendly equipment and processes.
Xerox and the University’s IT department will begin their collaboration by conducting an inventory and assessment of the devices currently installed on the various campuses. Over the next six to eight weeks, Xerox will perform on-site assessments to map locations with an IT representative to develop an equipment recommendation.
A campus team will review these recommendations and make adjustments in conjunction with Xerox and key stakeholders to ensure campus investment in equipment is maximized.
